Centre for Policy Analysis and Development (CPAD)-Nepal
Established in 2003 as a non-governmental, non-profit and non-partisan organization, CPAD aims at providing direct support to Nepal’s efforts on poverty alleviation through research and development activities that frontally address broad-based, participatory, equitable and sustainable development processes and outcomes. The main objectives of the Centre are:
- Carry out policy-related studies related to agriculture, natural resources, gender, rural development, environment and governance at sub-national, national and regional level;
- Undertake activities for raising among the stakeholders awareness of policies existing at national, regional and global level that affect one way or the other people’s livelihood and country’s development;
- Serve as a resource centre and depository of relevant national, regional and global policy documents and research reports; and
- Provide services of the professionals associated with the Centre to national, regional and international organizations as appropriate.
CPAD-Nepal is registered with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, and with the Social Welfare Council.
CPAD-Nepal is governed by a Working Committee of nine members with diverse professional background. It finances its activities through internally generated resources as well as through research and studies sponsored by national and international agencies.
