Welcome To Pro-Poor Agriculture Policy Network in Nepal

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, with support from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), has launched a regional programme, called ’Pro-Poor Policy Formulation, Dialogue and Implementation at the Country Level’, in eight countries of Asia, viz. Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. The programme implementation is coordinated at country level by respective national focal points and at regional level by the Policy Assistance Branch of the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAO-RAP). The core programme activities involve analysis and formulation of pro-poor policies, policy dialogue, dissemination of results and sharing of experiences, and implementation of selected pro-poor policies.

This website has been launched in pursuance of the programme objectives of dissemination of results and sharing of experience of the project.

The key results of the pro-poor policy analysis, dialogue and implementation will be disseminated to a wider mass to strengthen their mainstreaming into national policies. For this purpose, the programme will use, among others, website or links with the websites of relevant development institutions, including civil society organizations.
